A Humble Beginning with a Big Mission

Founded in 2018 by Lucy Jeffrey, Bare Kind began with a desire to create something meaningful that would not only be loved but also add value to the world. For Lucy, that happened to be the humble sock. With a lifelong love of animals and a dream to make a positive impact, she channeled her passion into creating vibrant, animal-themed bamboo socks that contribute to wildlife conservation. From the very beginning, Bare Kind has been about more than just making socks - it has been about making a difference.

Socks That Save Animals

Bare Kind socks are not only stylish and comfortable, they're also a force for good. Made from sustainably sourced bamboo, these socks are produced in a third-generation, family-owned factory in Istanbul using non-toxic dyes. The factory is fully BSCI and SEDEX audited, ensuring fair wages and working conditions for all employees. In October 2023, Bare Kind proudly became a B Corp-certified company, solidifying its commitment to high standards of social and environmental impact.

But the impact doesn't stop there. Bare Kind donates 10% of the profits from each pair of socks to a charity dedicated to protecting the animal featured on the sock. This means that every time you put on a pair of Bare Kind socks, you're not only keeping your feet comfortable, you're helping to save the world's animals.

A Growing Team, A Growing Impact

Since its inception, Bare Kind has grown beyond Lucy's original vision. The team has expanded with new members like Andy, who will join full-time in January 2022. Andy brings a deep connection to wildlife, having grown up surrounded by animals in Australia, and shares Lucy's passion for making a difference. Together, they've worked with more than 30 charities, including 10 in the UK, and their efforts have had a tangible impact - saving tropical rainforests, funding food for endangered species, and adopting animals in need.
