How Scramble Works

What exactly do you purchase when you invest through Scramble? The answer lies in a process called the assignment of claims.

How Scramble Works

When you invest through Scramble, you purchase the right to receive payments from a loan that has already been issued to a business. This is called an assignment of claims.

The process has three steps:

  1. The business has already received a loan. Before you acquire any claim rights through Scramble, the original lender has already provided the funds to the business under a loan agreement. You purchase rights under that existing loan.
  2. You purchase rights under that loan. You pay the original lender for all or part of its right to receive payments. The rights you acquire and the applicable terms are set out in your Assignment Agreement.
  3. Scramble administers the process. Scramble manages the assignment and distributes the payments received under the terms of the agreement.

In lending-based crowdfunding, investors grant loans to businesses through a platform. With Scramble, the loan has already been issued before you acquire the claim. Your payment purchases existing rights from the original lender.

Scramble OÜ’s claim-assignment services do not constitute crowdfunding services. Scramble OÜ does not provide crowdfunding services in Portugal or any other EU Member State and is not authorised to do so.
