From Garden to Growth

It all started in 2015 with a glut of garden-grown beetroot and apples. Rather than see them go to waste, the brand's founder, Desiree, created a natural ketchup that replaced refined sugar with fruit. That beetroot blend was a finalist in Ocado’s “Britain’s Next Top Supplier” competition and marked the beginning of an exciting retail journey.

Standing Out With Flavour-First Innovation

The Foraging Fox is known for turning everyday condiments into exciting pantry staples. Their ketchup range - still a bestseller - is now joined by bold, flavour-packed innovations like:

  • Avocado & Lemon Mayo
  • Smoked Jalapeño Mayo
  • Spicy Turmeric and Coconut Chilli Mayos
  • Keto-certified salsas in Tomato, Chipotle, and Mango Habanero
  • All-natural, preservative-free recipes made with British free-range eggs

These products aren’t just clean-label - they’re full of character, earning shelf space in retailers like Tesco and Costco, as well as loyal followings in both the UK and US.

Scaling Sustainably, at Home and Abroad

After launching in the UK, The Foraging Fox expanded into the US market with the help of a remote manufacturing network and a coast-to-coast sales team. In 2023, they debuted North America’s first Upcycled Certified Tomato Ketchup, made from surplus tomatoes that would otherwise go to landfill - a defining move for the brand and a milestone for the industry.

By mid-2024, the company had secured distribution in Costco UK, Sweden, and Iceland and introduced a new squeezy bottle format to meet rising demand. Their salsas and mayos are also gaining traction in the natural and organic retail space in the US.

The Bigger Mission: Fighting Food Waste with Flavour

At its heart, The Foraging Fox is committed to better food systems. As a member of the Upcycled Food Association, they’re helping tackle the 1.3 billion tons of food wasted globally each year. Their strategy is to make sustainability tasty, easy, and accessible for everyday consumers.

They’ve also expanded into food service with larger-format packaging, offering their full range to restaurants and catering businesses looking for premium, natural condiments.
